2017 Ford Truck Models – Ford Motor Co. recalling around 874,000 trucks that have engine block heaters after the fire report. The vehicles affected in the recall included the 2015-2019 F-150 model built in Dearborn, Mich., And Kansas City. Also affected are the 2017-19 model of Super Duty vehicles built in Ohio and Kentucky.
The recall affects the vehicle with engine block heating. The company said that three fires had been started from the engine heater block cable connection connector. Mild property damage was reported in one incident, although Ford said he was not aware of an accident or injury.

Security risks only exist when the truck is parked and the heater block cable is plugged into the outlet, said the news release.
“Water and contaminants can interfere into the connector of the block heating cable which causes corrosion and damage to the cable over time,” Ford said in a statement, adding that corrosion could cause short or make engine block heaters unusable.
Of those affected, around 410,289 trucks were in the United States and federal regions. The rest are in Canada, according to a news release.
