2500 Chevy Trucks For Sale – UPDATE 6/6/18: Chevy has released additional photos from Silverado HD, this time the top-of-the-line High Country trim (image below). While the Silverado 1500 is available in eight trim levels, the HD 2020 comes in only five: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. High Country gets a more traditional grille with a bowtie logo, unlike the Z71 LT which has a bigger face with Chevrolet stamped into the middle chrome bar.
Chevrolet has released the first images and details of the Silverado HD 2020, and the brand says that the new heavy duty truck will be the “most capable and most advanced” ever. It’s all good and good, but what we really care about is its appearance. The new HD Silverado, shown here in the form of 2500 in the Z71 LT trim, looks much better in our eyes than the standard Silverado 1500.

According to Chevy, the only body panels that share the new Silverado HDs with the usual 1500 are roofs; everything is really new. Like 1500, HD trucks have funky ends, like aliens, but aggression is increased, and it works well. Surfaces on the HD side are smoother, and everything from windows to arches is more square.
The integrated step beside the bed is new, with Chevy saying they help with access to available five-wheel barriers. On the back, the resemblance to 1500 is clearer, but the tailgate is less carved, and the bed itself is boxier. According to Chevy, HD has a higher seating position and an additional three-inch legroom compared to 1500. No interior photos are released, but it must be similar to a half-ton truck.
Like the current Silverado HD, two powertrains are offered: a V-8 that consumes gasoline and a V-8 turbo-diesel. Full specifications are not provided for both engines, but Chevrolet says the gas engine is completely new and will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission; The V-8 is currently a 6.0-liter Vortec unit that produces 360 horsepower.
Turbo-diesel, meanwhile, is mated with 10 automatic speeds and produces 910 lb-ft of torque (same as the current Duramax motorbike). Chevy said that the Silverado HD will experience a “significant improvement” when it comes to payloads and pullers – this brand definitely wants the best maximum-grade Ford F-Series Super Duty towing numbers.
The 2500HD and 3500HD silverado will make their official debut at the Chicago auto show in February, and the truck will go on sale in mid-2019. Look for the heavy-duty version of GMC Sierra which will soon be revealed too, with many of the same cosmetic and mechanical improvements as the Chevrolet.
