Pickup Truck Rental Columbus Ohio – Jerusalem, Nice, Berlin, Stockholm, London, Barcelona, New York, and Columbus, Ohio are all locations of terrorist attacks involving vehicles. America is the latest in the line of countries where terrorists use vehicles to attack.
Experts say this is a terror trend because it is very easy to get a rental truck in a relatively short time. ABC-7 goes to Home Depot to find out how easy it is to rent a pickup truck. It turns out that all you need is a valid SIM, proof of car insurance, and a credit card. A few minutes later, you can drive in the parking lot with a pickup truck “Load N ‘Go” without prior screening or training.

Some now say that maybe a background check before hiring could prevent previous attacks.
“Rental companies, whoever they are, cannot discriminate against people who try to rent a vehicle, but background checks might help,” Genelle Thompson said.
Others think the idea doesn’t make sense.
“You don’t have to have a background check to rent a car or vehicle. If I want to move some items, they have to do a background check because I want to move some furniture from one place to another? No. I think it’s wrong,” Sherrie replied Evans.
ABC-7 asked Home Depot whether they would consider changing the policy of truck rental after the latest terror attack in New York City.
They sent a statement saying, “At present our focus is on helping the authorities in the investigation.”
Home Depot is not alone in only requiring a SIM, proof of insurance, and a credit card to rent a truck. Lowe’s and U-Haul have similar rental policies.
However, Penke Truck Rental requires two forms of I.D. (one with photos) and the name of the tenant filtered against the watchlist they bought from third party services.
