Used Trucks For Sale In Utah – Florence storm first hit Carolinas, and now Michael appears towards Florida. The flood news is sure to make landfall in the US this year. Unfortunately, the next flood can be a wave of drenched cars heading to a used place near you. It is illegal to sell vehicles damaged by floods in most states, including Utah – but that does not mean that does not happen. In fact, according to Carfax, this is a growing problem thanks to last year’s storm.
“The number for Utah has increased quite significantly,” said Carfax spokesman Chris Basso. “Our data shows that there are now more than 3,000 previously flooded cars used in Utah, around 1,000 more than last year. Clearly nodding, in part, to the impact of Harvey and Irma on the market there. ”

With this year’s storm and vehicles from last year still reappearing, Carfax said it once again offered free flood checks to consumers at www.carfax.com/flood.
After the car is under water, it will have all kinds of problems that tend to make the driver stranded on the side of the road. That is why most states require the title of a car that has been flooded so that consumers know.
But Get Gephardt has reported previously on hijinks who doubted some used car places and individual sellers could use to wash their titles clean.
So, how can you be sure that a used car is not in a flood? Editor of Auto Consumer Reports Jon Linkov said, use your eyes and nose.
“The first thing you want to do is come to the front of the car,” he said. “Inhale and see if there is a moldy or musty smell. If you have it, you want to leave the car. ”
Next, Linkov said a trim panel appeared on the side of the door and looked for dirty carpet, sediment or rust. The same thing must be done in the door pocket.
“If there is sediment there or land or rock, that is what happens when water rises and goes into the car, and when it is drained, it stays and hides there,” Linkov said.
Ironically, one of the best places to check for flood damage that can damage the engine is in the trunk of a vehicle.
“See where the spare tire will be stored,” said Linkov. “If it has turned off the sound, smell the smell of musty or moldy. See if there is rust on the open screw, on the panel, or even on tools such as jacks or jack stands.”
That’s a good tip, but Linkov says it’s not a substitute for having a mechanic that you trust carry out a thorough inspection of the car before you buy.
Even though vehicle history reports can help, Get Gephardt has reported earlier that the report is not a guarantee of trouble-free cars. These reports include information from government agents and mechanics. When information is not reported to the company history-report, or incorrectly reported, the report will clearly be wrong.
