Moving Truck Rental Houston – Houston is No. 1 US. The Destination City according to the latest U-Haul migration trend report, continues to run above the list for the ninth consecutive year. Houston saw a 5 percent year-on-year increase in the arrival of U-Haul one-way trucks in 2017 to maintain its status as the busiest place for traffic to enter the do-it-yourself drive.
“We are an international city with a strong housing market,” said Matt Merrill, U-Haul Company of West Houston president. “The cost of living is still relatively cheap. The average salary is further in Houston. Many companies move here and bring work to our community. With U-Haul helping move people to the next chapter in their lives, I’m not surprised Houston is the top destination city again. ”

The rating is based on the total number of arrivals of one-way U-Haul trucks to the city in the last calendar year. City Destinations reflect the volume and regularity of the do-it-yourself drivers who come to a community. They do not account for departing U-Haul trucks in one direction, and thus do not always signify growth as ranked by the U-Haul Growth City and Country Growth.
U-Haul released 25 Cities The best growth in the US and its complete Growth States ranking for 2017 in January. Texas topped the Growth States report despite experiencing the wrath of Hurricane Harvey last year, with much misfortune befalling Houston residents.
“If you pass today, you won’t know Houston was destroyed by a storm,” Merrill said. “There are many people who are still rebuilding, but a lot of damage is behind us. There are people everywhere who help to help their neighbors.”
Robert Abidin, U-Haul Company from the Northeast Houston president, added: “Besides New York City, Houston is the most diverse city in the US. The oil industry is growing again. We have amazing colleges. Square footage of a very large city. You can be in the heart of the city, or you can choose to be on the outskirts of the city to raise your family and away from the hustle and bustle. Houston has something for everyone. ”
Atlanta, the last city besides Houston which is at the top of the U-Haul Destination City list (based on one-way movement in 2008), is at No. 20. Pittsburgh was the biggest driver of the top 50 this year, switching from no-one to No 37. Columbia, SC, rose 11 to No. 35. California offers a list of the top seven cities among the top 50 cities even though there are none in the top 10. Texas has six cities ranked, including three of the top seven.
