Cheap Pickup Trucks For Sale – Jeep builds the success of the Wrangler SUV by creating a Gladiator pickup truck. This model has long been anticipated by Jeep fans who are happy to remember off-road-ready trucks from multilevel brands, such as Comanche and Scrambler.
The arrival of the Gladiator came when truck sales were hot and the pickup truck market was expanding, with the return of the Ford Ranger. Like the Wrangler, the Gladiator will be distinguished by its off-road capabilities, removable hard and soft tops, and brand appeal.

We got the chance to see the new Jeep Gladiator in 2018 LA Auto Show. This is what we learned.
The automaker has teased this modern interpretation of Jeep pickups for years with the unforgettable 2005 Gladiator concept and the last generation Wrangler conversion. The final product is not surprising; it looked like a Wrangler with an extended cargo area. The character lines at the door carried to the bed, giving it an integrated feel. However, strangely, the second row door maintains a sloping back edge like the Wrangler, where the piece serves to wrap the door around the rear wheel arch. With a truck, the rear axle is moved back and this angle is not needed. Most cabin cabin pickup trucks have an empty second row door.
This truck is available with a removable soft top, black hard top, or body colored hard tops, depending on the trim level. The soft top has a removable rear window, and the hard top has a manual sliding sliding window.
The truck body is moistened, so that it slows down slowly, and can be stopped in three positions. The 5-foot bed has tie anchors and lighting under the rails. This can be equipped with an optional spray bed, bed divider, 115 volt outlet, and cargo cover. There is room to store 35-inch tires under the bed, meeting the needs of owners who significantly modify their trucks.
Inside the cabin
The cabin is basically carried away from the Wrangler. It’s far from luxurious, but looks rough and ready for adventure. As stated on the Wrangler we tested, the Sahara edge, we appreciate touches such as a solid gear regulator with red trigger triggers and classic Jeep images at the top, chrome-framed dash vents, and attractive rubber buttons. But some of the plastic is hard, there are a few thin elements, and there is no driver’s left footing to help keep it planted when rolling on the path.
The instrument cluster has a 3.5 or 7 inch LED screen that can display various information, warnings and entertainment details. The basic model is equipped with a 5-inch central touch screen, with the Uconnect infotainment system carrying a screen of 7- or 8.4 inches. We like this system because of its ease of use.
The Gladiator has a new rear seat that can be folded to open a storage area and fold forward to create a flat surface for storing large items.
What drives it
Gladiators can be owned with a choice of 3.6 liter V6 or 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine. A four-cylinder Turbo Wrangler will not be offered.
The standard engine for the Gladiator is a gasoline-powered V6, which produces 285 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. Diesel engines will join the lineup in 2020, with 260 hp and 442 pound-feet of torque. This combination of strengths will help off-roading, especially in trucks built, and help with towing. The maximum tow capacity is 7,650 pounds.
As with the Wrangler, there are many configurations for axes and axle ratios, allowing buyers to configure the truck for their needs, be it a daily driver or a serious off-roader.
The maximum payload capacity is 1,600 pounds.
Safety System & Driver-Assist
Jeep lists the availability of several advanced safety and driver-assisting features, including front collision warnings, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic warnings, adaptive cruise control, and rearview cameras with dynamic guidelines. The Wrangler currently makes such features only available at higher trims.
A smart front-facing camera is available in the Rubicon version to help navigate challenging tracks.
Gladiators are built on the character and virtues of the Wrangler, creating unique vehicles with rock-solid off-road credentials and strong aftermarket support for customization. However, we fully expect the Wrangler’s shortcomings, such as awkward access, excessive wind noise, rough travel, and trivial fuel economy, to continue too. Based on our satisfaction survey, Wrangler buyers know what they get and enjoy the experience. The same thing might be true for this long-awaited pickup truck.
