Uniroyal Truck Tires – Light truck tires are more than just trucks. Many vans and SUVs can also use this type of tire. Recently I needed a tire for my van and happened to get a tire that surprised me. Here’s the story. I am known for my old vehicle. My last travel model was the 1992 Chevy G20 van. Now this van relies on a 3/4 ton chassis and this is a convertible van. The van came to me and used a used car tire. When I went to the tire shop, the sales clerk directed me to the passenger car tire again.
That doesn’t sound right to me, because this is a very heavy van. But the idea is that I will be disappointed with the sound of the tire that I am considering, the Uniroyal Liberators. I still go with Uniroyals. Now I can report on the long-term performance of this tire. After 4 years and 45,000 miles, this is my impression.

Tires look like trucks. They have a difficult task in everything, even though they come with good white letters for a sporty look. The tread pattern is like a truck and the profile looks like a truck tire.
See, part of what you get with light truck tires is load ratings. It comes with a more rugged and rigid construction. That’s what this van needs. You never feel a trip that is too thick. It’s stable and solid all the time despite heavy loads. That means stiff travel.
But stiff travel doesn’t mean too hard, it’s just very difficult. That’s not too surprising when you consider the recommended maximum pressure on a tire is 44 pounds per square inch. But there is a noise factor.
You get a little sound in the form of a small whimper. That is only part of the package. After a while, I doubt if anyone is really paying attention. Maybe in a vehicle that is really quiet it will interfere, but not on this one.
Traction is a must in heavy vehicles like this. Never tire of me being disappointed. Traction always feels safe even in some rather uncertain situations.
For people who are frugal, the price is initially important but endurance is also. This is the cheapest tire that I can find to buy. Then they remain trouble free with just a few rotations. That means there are no excessive collisions like they wear. Good performance.
They survive well. I only chose to replace two tires around 45,000 miles. They still have traces but develop a little wear due to van problems, not tire problems. The other two tires travel ten thousand miles or more.
One good value for light truck tires is the Uniroyal Liberator. Of course there are tires that are more technically advanced. But for trucks, vans or SUV tires that are quite cheap, it’s hard to beat this in my opinion, based on my experience.
